Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath in her character in the romance film The Piano. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut as Flora McGrath. Paquin played the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 feature film Amistad. The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed in the role of Polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
