Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath in her character in the romance film The Piano. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut as Flora McGrath. For this part, she was awarded the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of 11. She was the second youngest winner in Oscar History. Flora McGrath is the daughter of the mute Scottish musician, who emigrated from Scotland to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. Following her move in New Zealand, in the United States, she became an adult. Paquin began her career as a child with a part as the Jane Eyre main character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre followed by she played a significant role on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the TV film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 feature film Amistad. The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed in the role of Polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
