Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek, a Mexican American actress born of Spanish as well as Lebanese parents and is Mexican. She was born into an affluent Roman Catholic family from Mexico. She was influenced by the age of a girl to pursue a career as an actress after watching the movie 'Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory'. After attending Mexico City's "Universidad Latinamericana," she was ready to join the industry of film. In the Mexican Telenovela "Teresa," she made her first appearance as an actor. After coming to Hollywood her role was to be in the lead role alongside Antonio Banderas in the movie "Desperado.' After that, she was cast in the films 'Fools' Rush In"' and "Wild Wild West' among others. In 'Once Upon an Time in Mexico She reprised her role as 'Desperado. Later, she founded her own production house called Ventanarosa. Her first production was the Mexican film, 'El Coronel Tien Quien Escriba in which she is Mexico's entry into the Oscars in the "Best Foreign Film" category. She also served as the executive producer of 'Ugly Betty.' The 1959 Primetime Emmy Awards nominated her for "Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series" in the character of Sofia Reyes. The actress also endorses brands such as 'Avon ' Revlon as well as her own cosmetics line, products for hair care and skincare under the brand name Nuance.
