Rickards was born in March 1964, got chosen to play Kristen Rose (the sister of Dakota, as played by Haley Ramm) in Cowgirls 'n Angels - Dakota's Summer. It also won the grand jury prize in the Barcelona Film Festival. Rickards took home the most popular actress prize at the Southampton International Film Festival. The actress acted alongside James Maslow in We Need to Talk[27] which premiered in May 2019. The film was directed and written by Todd Wolfe. In November of 2020, the film was showcased in the FirstGlance Film Festival of Philadelphia[28in which Rickards won the award for the best actress.
